Glogster is an online application that enables users of all ages to create multimedia posters to share knowledge and ideas, communicate findings, exhibit talents, and more.
Glogster can be used as an interactive platform for text, graphics, photos, video, and audio developed by the user or shared from digital resources.
For students, developing Glogs can enhance and promote higher order thinking skills, including but not limited to synthesis and application, as students ask questions, seek answers, communicate findings and/or information, and share their finished product locally or globally. Creating a Glog empowers students as creators and knowledge sharers in a student-centered learning activity.
Teachers can use Glogs for student-centered learning activities. Glogs may be used to deliver content, share information, link to resources, display class projects and more.
Goals:
Teachers will:
Create a Glog that integrates text, graphics, and video (your own or one selected from the SchoolTube library) for use in teaching and learning, communication, or personal productivity.
Apply knowledge of digital citizenship in regard to ethical use of resources and materials integrated into the Glog.
Examples
Please use the Glog below that I have created for this module to familiarize yourself with Glogs. Any component of the Glog with a hyperlink will display a bright pink circle when a cursor hovers over it. Please visit the links of interest to you. Examples of Glogs in a variety of curriculum areas may be found on the bottom of the Glog.
Step-by-step tutorial on how to use Glogster, 20 minutes long (You may stop the video at any time and then push the play button to continue.) Additional notes for use below.

Integrate hand-drawn or handwritten work into a Glog by scanning the piece of artwork or the document and save it as a picture file.
Text
Integrate text created in MS Word or Apple Works by copying text and pasting it into a Sticker. Work should be a conservative length to minimize scrolling within the Sticker.
TED Video:
Jack Utko put his vision into practice and transformed newspapers. How can we use his vision to inspire our practice and the practice of our students when creating Glogs?
Reflection
How will you integrate Glogster into teaching and learning?
How can Glogster be used to promote student-centered learning?
Please post your reflections to the Continuing Conversation page for Module 5.
